Imperbit membrane industries (IMI),  a manufacturing venture of the AL Yousuf Group of companies, has been awarded the “Golden Certificate Award” for Excellence in Environmental Sustainability which was presented by the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility. The Award that demonstrates IMI's efforts  in carrying out the initiatives, that improve sustainable environmental development & implementing the best environmental practices.

Mr.Ashok Srivastava Director of IMI, received the Golden Certificate Award from Mr.Pierre Moukarzal President of the Arab organization for Social Responsibility on 9^th of June, 2015 during a Ceremony held at Al Murooj Rotana Hotel, Dubai.

Mr.Ashok Srivastava further indicated that the certification is a testament to IMI’s total commitment towards environmental initiatives taken in manufacturing quality products with cleaner production technology, sustainable, high performance, waterproofing products that are manufactured to the highest standards of the industry.

IMI is the first regional manufacturer of waterproofing membranes to have received a technical BBA certification for product quality. IMI membranes are now used extensively in the GCC countries, and exported to over 26 countries in the Far East, Africa and North America.

Mr. Zakir Hussain, Deputy GM of IMI, also pointed out that the BBA & FLL product certification involves rigorous and impartial testing of products for quality and durability.

"IMI successfully passed a comprehensive assessment involving laboratory testing, site evaluation, and inspection of production," said Mr Hussain.  Inspection of the production process is designed to evaluate whether the manufacturer has an effective control system to ensure that the specification of the product will be maintained consistently.

Mr Hussain emphasized that it is particularly important for anyone involved in the selection of waterproofing products to know  that FLL & BBA Agrement certificate  is a statement on products’ quality & durability, either in years or as a factor of the anticipated life of a building in which the product is incorporated.

Environmental consciousness

Mr. Masood Quadri, Factory & QC Manager of IMI being an environmental conscious senior manager has implemented one of the most comprehensive environmental programs currently taking place in the UAE; IMI recycles up to 30 tons of non bio degradable plastic every month.

“All efforts are taken to ensure that our fume abatement system functions efficiently so that process emissions are trapped, washed and disposed through authorized waste disposal systems. This process also means that only clean air is emitted into the atmosphere. We deploy an extremely environment friendly production line which help keep emissions and wastage to the absolute minimum”,

Mr. Quadri said in addition, IMI received the “Environmental Performance Certificate” in 2011 from the UAE’s Ministry of Environment & water for its outstanding environmental performance and its efforts to assure the sustainable environment.

Accreditation

IMI follows the ISO 9001 quality management system and is the only manufacturing company in the Middle East region to have obtained internationally recognized technical certificate by BBA (British Board of Agrément) & FLL for its quality products.

Further, IMI received another prestigious “GAIA AWARD” in 2012 in the Finished Products category of construction materials for its HYPERFLEX Waterproofing Membranes at THE BIG 5 - 2012, Dubai.
